Hi, I’m Lauren. Glad you’re here.

People have described me as a tender-hearted, pragmatic, and creative human. My therapeutic approach is guided by my value of creating welcoming spaces for you to express your multi-dimensionality. I believe that you are the expert of your own life.

My 15-year counseling career includes my work as a therapist, facilitator, coach, and nonprofit program director. Across educational and clinical settings I have found that people make the most profound change when they can connect their sensory experience with language. I believe that somatic awareness is a form of radical self-acceptance that invites us deeper into compassion, justice, and reverence for life.

I have a special interest in supporting perfectionists, active imaginations, highly sensitive people, students from underresourced neighborhoods, and survivors of sexual trauma. I am comfortable with and honored to guide people through panic, dissociation, grief, chronic pain, and loss.

My therapy framework has been informed by personal and professional experience with psychodynamic theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Hakomi therapy, and Body-Mind Centering principles. I am a student of movement, improv, meditation, writing, and herbalism.

I currently offer telehealth or in-person sessions at The Psychotherapy Institute in Berkeley, CA, also recognized as unceded Lisjan Ohlone Territory.
